Over the past weekend 38 of our Ravenswood Swimmers competed in a whopping 269 individual events at the SMNE Winter Championships held at SOPAC on Saturday 26 -Sunday 27 May. Saturday was a trying day for everyone due to technical difficulties adding 2 hours to the schedule, however, this did not stop our Ravens who managed themselves exceptionally well to step up and have a highly successful first major hit out for the winter short course season.

With the winter race emphasis on skill and race plan execution, our swimmers had inter squad battles for best breathing patterns, underwater skills, stroke rates, and 3rd quarter + back end race splits; resulting in well thought-out and executed races. As far as results go, there are simply too many to mention; every team member either gained a medal, placed in the top 10, gained a qualifying time for Metro/State/ACT, or swam faster than they ever have before.
Our Ravens won:
6 Gold
13 Silver
7 Bronze
46 Top 10
110 personal best times
A special mention to those swimmers who set new SMNE meet records over the weekend:
Once again congratulations to all our swimmers on a fantastic weekend of racing, and a massive thank you to all the parents who helped out with time keeping and the medals table!
