Australian Swimming Nationals

Congratulations to Kirrily, Ben, Eli and Gabi who raced at their respective National Competitions during the school holidays.

Kirrily contended with driving rain and gale force winds at the outdoor venue on the Gold Coast, posting personal best and second fastest times ever, in her 3 events. Kirrily gained valuable experience racing at her first Nationals and had the opportunity to meet stars from the Australian Paralympic Team.

Ben was racing at his first Nationals and had much more favorable conditions for his 2 races. He executed exceptional race plans, gaining personal-best times for both events and placing 25th in Australia for the boys 15-Years 50m Freestyle.

Eli and Gabi, racing at the Australian Open Champs alongside Australia’s top Olympic Swimmers, contested the

Girls' 17-18 Years age group. They too had much more favorable conditions than Kirrily, producing season-best times for their events. Gabi swam the 50m and 100m Breaststroke and Eli swam the 50m and 100m Freestyle, both placing in the Top 10 of 17-year-old's in the country.

Over the weekend, our newest Member Daniel, competed at the the opening of our short course season - the Swimwest Winter SC carnival. Daniel had an exceptional day, posting 7 personal best times from 7 races. Congratulations Daniel.
